ok, so i have been looking for a while for a car to wall off and compete with, so it doesnt have to be my daily driver that gets walled.....so picked this up for 200.00 it had the bose stereo as an option, so i didnt even think twice when i saw the tweeters in the doors, assuming they were part of the bose system but then i got a closer look at them when i was messing with the viper alarm wiring behind the fusebox i was like "hell yea, got me some good tweeters, i wonder if they work, so i installed a deck to the harness that was in the dash, turned it up a little, no rear speakers, assumed there was no front speakers......WRONG upon further investigation i found this hidden in the door and behind that was after popping the trunk and looking around a little better i found all stinger 0 guage from the battery to the back (loomed until it gets to the trunk, so didnt notice it under the hood) a stinger distribution block w/ 2 small runs of 4 guage and 3 sets of stinger rca's (the h/u side was stuffed down in the dash, didnt find them while installing deck) i love it when **** like this happens!
hehe, yea craigslist find....the guy has been posting it for like 3 weeks trying to part it out, i asked what was wrong with it and how much for the whole car....it runs and drives but needs a new maf sensor (lack of power, idles REALLY rough) and an added VERY weird problem....NO power in the cabin at all, no lights, gauges, horn, cig lighter....nothing
its almost a shame to rip out that beautiful leather.....these cars are ALOT nicer than you would ever think they are, rides like a caddy, handles like a civic, heated leather seats, heated mirrors, thermostat electronic climate control, all the bells and whistles!
I want an old van, like the white vans that have no windows or doors in the back... what r they called dam it?!? o well, u all get the picture, well i want one of those when i have ALOT of extra cash just layin around and build a competition van, or atleast some cheap vehicle that i can play with! lol Gohilla, you have inspired me!
i have really short bursts of AWESOME luck.....then REALLY long lengths of REALLY bad luck.....i have no clue whats wrong w/ the electrical not gonna be a daily so might just hardwire what i need to get it to comps
sweet find. maybe it just a fuse or something and the guy doesnt know anything about cars. i friend at work got a 92 integra off of another coworker for a 100 bucks. said it wouldnt start. didnt do anything yet the batt had plenty of power. turned out to be a $5 main fuse. got another 60,000 miles out of her after a tune up and oil change. the guy knew 0 about cars, he thought it was a crap car cause it ran rough. 4 plugs fixed that for 8 bucks. you can get good deals from dumb people.
Good one, so it's like you spent $200 on wiring and the components and got the car for free lol. Those leather seats have to worth $200 too. It looks like the previous owner knew what he was doing but when decided to get rid of the car he just pulled the amps and sub box quickly and probably the deck and in doing so popped a bunch of fuses.
you may be able to make your money back or at least some by just selling the stuff your gonna take out.
