    Washed the cart today

Got that done, fired the cart up about an hour later, turned the Alpine on and i was getting a "Heart Beat" through the speakers.

The speakers are marine grade, the amp is not.
The CD player would not of gotton wet, just not possible, possible the amp could have, its a cheapo.

After about an hour of having the Alpine up and running, the thump is no longer there.

Any ideas of where this was coming from?

    Thanks

hmmmm... short in the speaker leads maybe while it was wet?

i know too low of an impedance will do the same, as will low voltage.

    Low voltage huh

    Im going to start there.
The speakers and cross overs are marine grade, ive got the cross overs covered with a zip lock container to get dirt and dust away.
    The amp is still exposed.

Ive got a battery in there right now that is on its last legs, so im going to replace it and see if the problem goes away.
Makes sense though because the sound is there when i first start the cart up and will hang around for several minutes.
It eventually fades away and is no longer there.
