Are most aftermarket HU's able to handle a 2 Ohm speaker without shutting down? I've been looking at few different 6 1/2 mid's and 4x6 plate speakers that are 2 Ohm. These speakers are for a friend of mine and he's not going to run any external amplifiers for the components.
Most name brand HU's will not have any problem with that. In fact, most factory stereos can handle 2-ohm speakers.
and actually most aftermarket head units are designed to be ran at 2 ohm. cuz most cars have more then one speaker on each channel
