Ok, so I have a 1993 Jimmy. When I got it, it had an aftermarket kenwood cd player installed and it worked fine. Then after a while the display stopped working but it still played music. Then one day I turned on the car, but the deck didnt come on, it had no power at all. I figured it was just broken. So I bought a another pioneer deck and had it installed and it worked fine. Then a couple weeks later, I turned on the car and the deck didn't come on. No power at all, it wouldnt do anything so I just left it sitting there. Its been like this for months now, but im really starting to miss my music so I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what the prob could be. I know nothing about car audio so Im in the dark here...

how did you wire the stereo? I hope the power 12V line is fused. most stereos also come fused, you may have just blown a fuse... Hopefully. if you did just blow a fuse then you must have some kind of short in your wiring so you'll have to redo it.

It may even be a lose ground wire. I think it would be better to run all new power and ground wires and then see if the stereo will work. got any pics of what the wiring looks like?
