i would go for the pioneer over that clarion.. clarion only has a 2 band EQ compared to a 7 band in the pioneer thats quite a big difference. Plus the Pioneer is cheaper. Looks to me like the Clarion is focused on wow factor and not audio factor.

I am a clarion fan...have been since the "highway fidelety " series back in the early 80's.....(not that anyone rembers that line )

The Pro audio series in the mid 90's was bullet proof also...

Both make a good HU, pioneer has been in the car audio arena longest of the 2, but I still favor clarion.....Of all the radios in the dashes of my cars, clarion has beenin them the longest.

    Just my ****ty opinon

Pioneer Premier or Eclipse. When I was looking into head units about 6yrs ago, I was told that Alpine was already going downhill then. Not sure if they rebounded, but they have always been pricey for what they are, and I am sure you would like the Pioneer Premier or Eclipse better, even the low end models.

I had a pioneer.. and I had an eclipse 8volt.

    then i got a kenwood.

wouldn't ever think about going back.

its true. Once you find something you like. Stick with it.

    6019 babay!

by the way. most of my friends have alpine. They admit they were wrong for buying them.

Good to hear Kenwood is still good...I forgot they used to be one of the elite brands....So was Denon at one time. I had one...About 8yrs ago (they were going downhill then also), it was the best sounding head unit with features that were up the wazzo...it was like 500bucks....to bad it broke in like 3months..Sent it back to the guy's stereo shop to get fixed and he was going to send it out to Denon for warrenty...He told me to come back a week later....I went back to an empty shop..He went bankrupt..Thief!!! Stay away from Denon anyway...unless they rebounded...I dont even know if they make car audio anymore

    Screw Denon......

And screw soundstreams...well, at least those from the early 90's......Oh, and screw pioneer and fujitsu tens with there stupid dammed pullout conversion kits for the din radios....and screw alpine's with there crappy ass molex connectors...and to hell with sony, freekn junk asss cd transports, and also to hell with clarion and the dammed crap asss cages and shytty keys to pull out the radios....then there is kenwood....junk ass crap, what with the low signal output on the RCA"s....

    ITS ALL JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Buy what make yu happy!

I use Kenwood in my truck, (it matches the dash the best) and I have a Pioneer in my car. Pioneers are extremely reliable and good performers.

When I sell a Pioneer to a customer, they are always happy (except for figuring out how to set the clock). I like selling Pioneer because I never have a return

    Good Equipment
