Hard time making a decision.

Okay, here's the problem. I'm having a hard time making a decision between the Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW12R, MTX T9512-44 Thunder9500, and the Alpine SWX 1243D Type X Subwoofers. They're all so good. They're all pretty comparable to each other, but I'm not that experience with subwoofers, so I'm asking, which one would you choose for the deepest and lowest bass sounds with loudness and more thump? One that you can probably hear thumping in the farthest distance, many blocks away. Which ever one that I decide to choose, I'm planning to buy a pair of them. I'm thinking more towards the Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW12R but I'm still so indecisive. I want the best of the best! I'm sure they're are other better ones out there, but what about between these ones? Which one is better according to the specifications and let's say with the recommended enclosure? I'm looking for mostly bass sounds. Deep/Low and Loud and maybe clarity if possible. I wish I can test all three of them, that's the only way how I can tell, but I don't know where or if you can do that anywhere. Well, if someone can help me out on choosing the best out of these 3 subwoofers, I would appreciate it, BIG TIME! I'm planning to have them for a long time so I want the best that I can get according to my interest. Thank you!

What amp are you planning to use for the subs? What kinda car are you planning to put them in? As far as the enclosure, you should go with a ported box or a T-line. As far as the sub goes, If i HAD to pick between the 3 of them i'd probably go with the MTX. I wouldn't even think of going with the kenwood.

I second with cccullen. 9500 series can get loud. the alpine can also. the kenwood shouldnt even be mentioned.

Thanks for replying CCCullen. Why do you say that about the Kenwood? I just want to know, so I can make a great decision for myself. Well, I was planning to use the Kenwood Excelon KAC-X1R Amp (2 of them). The audio guy at the Kenwood store in my area told me that I should go with the Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW12R Subs, but I'm thinking he only said that because he works there. Is a ported box the same as a vented box? The audio guy told me I should go with a vented box. What do you think?

So you guys are saying that the MTX 9500s are better than the Kenwoods statistically and for a fact? Because I might have to take your word for it. I am kind of doubting the kenwood now, but I just want to make sure, so I can purchase the MTX's with no doubts.

yes ported and vented are essentially the same. ported is usually a name given to PVC pipe, vented is given to actually using wood to form a port thats actually part of the box.

how much space do you have to use though? the mtx might take up a decent amount of room... right guys?

Go vented. if you want to be heard from blocks away then that's the way to go. Ported, vented is the same thing.

Kenwood amps are ok but you could get a lot better if you want "the best"! What's your budget for the amp/s?

    Kenwood is crap.

The MTX 95000 is more SPL based. The Alpine Type X is an SQ subwoofer.

I'd go for the Type X...I love them

Azn is right the type X are some of the best subs on the market, you will be very happy with them.

I don't really care about how much room I have. I'm pretty sure it'll fit. I don't need any extra space. I have a 2004 Nissan Altima 3.5SE. It'll fit right?

My budget for the amps is no more than $1500 ($2000 if I need two of them). So then what amp would you suggest? How many of them?

Okay, so I guess the Kenwood subs are out of the picture. Now between the MTX 9500s and the Alpine Type Xs, what do you guys think? Which one has better performance?

eD has some seriously nice amps. they're all rated at 12.5v so expect a bit more power out of them especially if you have a good electrical system
