I'm new to this car audio stuff, but I've been advised by numerous people with experience, and the guys at the site I was ordering from, and I wanted to get other opinions.

First off, I have a Alpine CDA-9884 head unit. I have 4 Kicker speakers, and just received 2 of my 12" Alpine Type E subwoofers. You guys can clown me because of the 'Type E's' but, Im not looking for ridiculous bass, their enough for me. Anyway, I still havent ordered my Amp yet.. the Amp I was looking at is an Alpine MRP-M500. It give's out 500rms watts, and is apparently 1100 Watts in total. Each sub can handle 250rms Watts, so it matches good. They also have 750 Watt peak power. My question to you guys is, is it worth spending 300+ dollars on this Amp for these subs? Will I get the best out of my subs with this Amp? I was ordering off www.crutchfeild.com, and a guy I spoke to on the site said that it would be a perfect fit. But, I wanted other opinions. Thanks for your help. Peace!

that alpine is a good amp but it ain't $300. you can get it off of ebay for $159.99 shipped.
    http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Alpine-MRP-M500-MONO-Car-AMPLIFIER-500-WATTS_W0QQitemZ250375221796QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Amplifiers?hash=item250375221796&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1234|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

the subs are okay, i'm not going to say anything bad about them. They are a single voice coil sub that is 250watts rms each. so if you get 2 of them you can wire them at a 2ohm load.

Now, the alpine amp puts out 500watts rms at a 2ohm load so it is a good match. I suggest you get it on ebay though, you'll save a lot of $$$

Thanks for the replies guys, Sorry i havent been around my PC in a few days. anyway,

im amazed at how much more expensive that Amp is on crutchfeild. Im in canada though, So i need a site that ships to canada. I put in www.crutchfeild.com but i was actually using www.crutchfieldcanada.com.

Im not really looking for crazy bass, just something that will give me what Im looking for. The guy I spoke to also said that it'd be best to go with an Alpine amp since my subs and head unit are alpine. whats so different about the other AMP posted and the Alpine I posted?

And another thing. Im obviously new to this car audio stuff. The amp says "2 ohms: 500 wattsRMS x 1 channel". Wouldnt I need a 2 Channel amp for two subwoofers?

No, for subs you'll only need a class d amp that is one channel.
