What kind of amp would u recommend for front and rear speakers in my car? I'm looking spend around $300.

Here's my current set up: alpine cda-9886 headunit, boston acoustic pro60s in front with kenwood coaxials in rear powered by 300/4v2 jl audio amp. JL 10W3v3-4 single sub in a ported box powered by a jl audio 500/1 amp.

How does the JL 300/4 compare to other amps out there?

If you already have the JL amp i'd stay stick with it unless you want to go for SQ. Good SQ amps like STEG and sinfoni cost a fortune though.

Recommendations for speakers? hmm, we would always say to let your ears be the best determining factor. People have different tastes so it's what you think is good for your ears.

You may want to take a look at Polk, Focal and DLS.

i know the JL doesnt give you more power at a lower impedance. so its 75 no matter what ohm load. if i remember right. but gives you good clean power.

whats wrong with the 300/4 you have that you want something else?

i like matching amps myself. but thats me.

i think it was the wiring that was subpar...basically the stock wiring was reused to wire the amp to the speakers. Sound far from where it should have been. do you using the pioneer headunit listed in my signature could have been a contributing factor?

well, i think it may be the wiring and RCA's that you may be using and the head unit. I'm sure that your head unit may only have 2v preouts so that would mean that your gains would be a little higher... The JL amp is a good amp, a little expensive but good.

I'm using elemental designs amp, along with other guys here on the forum. Check out their sale. they are good amps.

I have never really liked JL, but thats just me. They have never impressed me with their price to value ratio. I would go with the eD amp. i am using eD subs and they are really nice!
