Hey guys, I have a mtx crossover hooked to my amp and it has a knob with frequency ranges. What do I need to set this on to get max thumping power? Can someone also help me understand the frequencies? Im kinda new to all this stuff.
Sounds like the knog that actually controls the crossover point. Basically, what a frequency is (I'll stick to audio terms here) , is a set of sounds we can all here, the ideal human ear hears from 20Hz up to 20,000Hz. 20Hz is the lowest sound we can hear. From 20 hz up to around 100Hz is where all the "bass" is, From about 100-250hz is where the midbass is, from 250 up to around 5000Hz is where the midrange is, like vocals , guitars, etc. from 5KHz on up is the "treble" like cymbals and such. The knob on your amp is simply an adjustmant for controlling where the sub stop playing, best thing to do is experimant. No one here can tell you "exactly" where to set it, evry car is different and everyone likes a different sound. I would suggest starting at 100Hz and go from there.....
