I was reading your dome light post before it turned into a flame fest.... If you want to make your bulbs brighter do this... Crack your bulb and remove the filament and glass. Buy a bright led (blue i think in your case, preferably wide viewing angle). Find out the data on it - forward voltage, draw, etc. Take your power supply voltage (since in a car 12v) subtract that from that forward voltage of the led, and then divide that by the draw (in amps) of the led. This number provides you with the resistor value. If it's an odd number, just go with the next one up, not down. Rather be safe than sorry and not blow a $4 led. Ex. 12v-4v= 8v 8v/.020A= 400 ohms. Now just wire the resistor in line between the very bottom of the light (+) and the anode of the led. The wire the cathode into the side of the bulb. Take some hot glue and glue the led flush into the base of the bulb, with the resistor and wire on the inside of the base.
