Anybody have a clue of what the problem might be...:confused:

I'm running a system with two 12" subs and 3-way seperates. Have a cap and beefed alternator, I believe it's a 225. Using an interstate battery.

So while I drive sometimes the volume drops down (to about 3/4 of actual volume) and then goes back up to normal. It seems arbitrary but does happen, although not always, when I hit a bump.

Someone said that my amps are too close together and that wire inputs that are close together cause interference??? Not sure about this but haven't tried spacing my amps cuz they are custom installed that way...I will if I have to...

Another guy said I have a loose wire somewhere but I took the system apart and put it back together...unless I missed/overlooked a wire, I'm not sure if it's that either...

Any help or suggestions would be well appreciated.

I tried searching for this problem on another board and this board but couldn't seem to find any posts/threads relating to this...

that's a weird problem... the volume drops in the whole system?

I would try to isolate it. try disconnecting your sub amp and just run your 3-way first. see if there is a drop in your volume... it it does then you may have a problem there. if it doesn't then try to do the same thing with the sub amp (disconnecting the amp for the mids and highs).

you could also try to change out the head unit (if you have an extra) to rule out the deck.

Yup, the whole system..I'll try isolating the subs, then the separates, then will try a different head unit.

Thanks for the suggestions!!! I'll keep you posted.

If anyone has any other suggestions, please chime in. I'm desparate and will try almost anything...

I know what you mean. that could be tough. you must have some friends with aftermarket decks. borrow one for a day. :)
