I just bought a 3-4 year old RF Punch XLC (RFP2412) for $10 with a sealed box. I couldnt resist. The tinsel lead snapped at the place where it mounts to the terminals on the sub. I can just solder it right? Do I have to use any sort of special method? Should I use a small length of wire as a patch? Do the tinsel leads become brittle when they heat up?

I use hemostats or needlenose pliers and hold the lead wire. It absorbs the heat and prevents the solder from bleeding up the tinsel. If alot is broken off, soldering a bit off another woofer is adviseable, but if it is mostly in tact, no need to worry. Just DON"T superheat the tinsel, rather tin the soldering gun well and make it quick.

Alright! Got it fixed. Pushing down on the sub and having it gradually push back up is normal for sealed right?
