First Time Audio System Buyer Needs HElp

    Hey.. So i'm drivin a 2001 VW Jetta and i'm lookin to fix it up and get a good audio system in there... The problem is that i know almost nothin about it.. I really just dont know what too buy.. I want somethin thats a good for listenin to hiphop/rap but somethin thats gonna give me a good clean sound but not rattle tha whole car too much ya know lol.. So if somebody could help me out and just inform me what u think i should look into.. Thanks.

    well, i'm assuming your all stock at the moment. you should be looking into getting the following..

    new head unit.
    1 set of component speakers for up front.
    1 amp to drive the component speakers
    1 sub (size depending on your liking.)
    1 amp for the sub.
    various wires and distribution block and RCA wires.

    What's your budget for the set up? does your jetta have the 2" tall stock head unit or the 4" tall head unit?

    i dont really have a budget but im not really trying to spend a whole lot but i dont want cheap garbage either ya know lol..

    But what would be some suggestions for the size of the subs?

    Also what brands should i look to buy?

    it'd be easier to suggest brands and what not if you had a price range for what you want to get
