ok thanks, i was going over some options for a new system, i want more SPL than my current one is giving me. and i got to thinking about putting 2 18"s in the trunk in place of my 12"s. car is a 91 chevy lumina. it does have alot of trunk space but im not to sure if i can fit a box big enough in it. so would it sound bad if i had the subs facing up oposed to facing the rear or front of the car?
hmmm tough one for me..as ive never seen subs that big in a trunk vehicle....ok got it! angle the drivers so they can fit in the trunk. and aim them how ever they sound the best.
hmm, sounds like it would be more efficent to just go with 2 15"s? as i know they would fit in the trunk.
those ive seen. will be tight but will deff fit. seen one in a caddy in a 4th order bandpass ported into the inside thru the rear deck. bass was nice and deeep and tight.
yeah i think 2 15s would be more manageable, 18s are more for SUVs, trucks with a lot more space...unless you want to put one in your trunk lol. what do you have now?
the only way I would put 18s in the trunk is with a sealed enclosure. Ported you need about 12-15 cu ft enclosure. two 15s will fit easier but will still be a tight fit.
subs or the car? the subs are 2 12" legacy red cones, 600rms. there cheap so im only sending 350 to em but they dont sound bad at all im actually pretty pleased with them. and the car is a 91 chevy lumina
i bet you would get tons more spl by replacing your 12s with some good ones, in the right ported enclosure and a good amp
yea, my current box is not ported, and the amp is an AL audio 1400watt. deffinetly room for improvement lol. im thinking of getting some alpine type r's to replace the legacys
