Few Questions

I'm planning on installing two subwoofers, along with an amp in my truck, and I had a couple questions...

-I plan to get 2 Kicker CompVT 4 ohm subs, are these considered good quality? Alot of you probably consider this tasteless, but I want my car to be shaking , will these do that for me?

    - For the amp, I want to get a Rockford Fosgate Punch P500-2, so obviously since it's a 2 channel amp, it would power each speaker at 250w for 4 ohms. Since the subs have an RMS of 200, would this be a correct power? And is the amp even good quality? If not, could someone recommend one for under $400?

-I'm planning on just buying the amp from bestbuy and ordering the subs, but I came across onlinecarsterio.com, where it's for sale for $100 less, is this site legit?

-I'm also building the enclosure for it all, to sit behind the back seats of my 2001 Toyota Tacoma Doublecab and I was wondering if anyone has built one before and has the dimensions they used.

-What would be the best way to connect the wires from the back where my subs would be, to the front where the rest of the system is located? I'm guessing to just take up some of the carpet and put it through there, but is there another way?

    Thanks :)

you can find amps online for way less than 400 bucks. all you need is a 500 watt rms amp right?

those can be had for 200 or less. i know for a fact that audiopipe mono amps will do rated power for the money. and you can wire the subs @ 2 ohm to get a lil more power. but look for an amp that will give you 5~600 watts into a 2 ohm mono load or like you found; a 2 ch with up to 250 x2 @ 4ohms RMS.

Thanks, in general, what kind of wire/wire kit would I need to get to install this, is there a certain gauge depending on amp size?

4 gauge is a good starting point. that what i have in my truck and im running 2k rms. they are short runs from my rear batt tho.

but all in all 4 should do it.

Ok thanks, and just making sure, if I go with the Rockford Fosgate amp, I can get any wire, not just Rockford Fosgate?

And also, where do you have your wire leading from your amp setup to your cd player? I'm not sure where I would hide that

i have my power wire going to the amp on one side and my signal cable (rca's ) on the other side. all under the carpet.

you can use any brand wire as long as its true 4 gauge not just a thick jacketed cable.
