Ya im a noob and i know theres probably a sticky somewhere about this but i cant find it so here goes... trying to wire up a pioneer head unit in my 1993 chevy silverado 1500, followed wires from radio to im guessing the second part of the radio maybe a control unit its a box type thing. anyways all the speaker wires and the ground and such come out of the secondary box, but im not familiar with the colors they used i traced down the speaker wires but im not sure on the last 4, the colors are brown light brown orange and yellow. if anyone could help me identify what colors are what i would appriciate it.
yellow is your ignition power orange is your constant 12volt (memory) brown is the dimmer light brown????I dont remember a light brown>>>>unless its the rear speaker......... black is the ground normally on GM's
just double checked and ya 3 seporate plugs 2 of them have 4 wires each for the speakers, but ya the one im talking about just realized has 5 wires that are in order black, brown, grey, orange and yellow sorry bout that but ya there is is grey (not light brown like i said) in the middle of those that is not a speaker wire
What Viking said, you need the yellow, orange and black. Most of the time I prefer to run my own ground instead of using the factory ground.
thanks ya thats the only ones i needed i ren straight wires to the speakers instead of the factory ones.
