Here is a link to the good ol days with it. It's been without a system since about late 07. Full Excursion - Kingsuv's On Going Build - The Forum 1st set of the 30 some odd sets I have to make. A large part of this ongoing build will be redoing stuff that was done in a rush the first time. Most of what you see ( or don't ) was done mostly just before a comp or a car show, so there is way more ratsnest then any one car should have. Now that I have time to go through it, I will post up whats being done like it should of the 1st time. Don't ask for before pics, I didn't take any and I'm sure as hell ain't going to post any. Today's project was to redo the A pillar gauges. It wasn't some much as an issue as it was for convenience and looks. The wire was scraps and all the connectors were crimped. Now it's pimp. Too bad the only time you will see it is here in pics
Here is some of what is going in. And then the control center. It's a tight fit. And sure to be fun to wire up. I am using 3 HR-4125's with a total 16 channels of processing. I used 3 HF-1000.1's to mock up where I want them to go Then you can't forget about the madness. I haven't decided if I will use 2 Inferno 8.1's or 4 HF-2500.1's yet. Or maybe I will use more Started off needing a false floor for the center console. The brain and 2 processors will be housed in there as well as the Sirius and the ipod control.
Also picked up A new distro block for all my addons. And have been working on these for days now. I'm about half done. Added a little more bling for the center console. More Molex plugs, soldering, Texflex, and shrink wrap. Got a package in today. Thanks to Scottie Johnson for the great deal on some nice RCA's
Started marking all my channels so I can lay them in the truck tomorrow. Decided to do the PXA H510 For the rear processor. I have 3 of them so I might as well use one Besides, Have a sweet spot to add the controller in the rear of the center console Also picked up a lumber rack for the shop. Now that it has wheels I will move it over to the shop Have just about all the power side of the control worked out. If all goes well I will have all the RCA's and AI-net, and Speaker wire ran tomorrow. Then I will pull it all out and PIMP it out with some brand new Second Skin Damplifier Pro Black next week. Oh and I have some stuff sitting around here thanks to Scottie at XS power. I needed a solid way to bolt everything down. Sheetmetal screws suck when you have one of these It's like having pop rivets with threads in the middle
ANT over at Second Skin hooked me up proper! He said I wasn't busy enough so he sent me more work to do The UPS man hasn't been too happy with me lately. He asked if I had any packages coming in that wasn't over 50 lbs. I said just wait till my sub order comes in Hard to tell in the pics, but the new black is the ****! I will be out of town at a show this weekend, so it doesn't look like I will have a chance to roll any out. But when I do I'll be sure to post up plenty of pics of this pure sex product!
blooody hell, i never understood why people did car shows, but if your gonna do it. at least make it practical, what in the world are you gonna do with? you'd burst an ear drum if you accualy turned that on while inside just form the amount of air being moved
15 years of loud systems and haven't busted an ear drum yet. Took a hearing test last year and scored 100% The system isn't half as hard on my hearing as my ipod earbuds are
I applaud you. I could never keep up with that many wires, can't wait to see some more of this build.
Thanks. It's no small undertaking. This is the 3rd time I have put this system in and out of the truck. I have quite a bit of notes on it. I found the diagrams were wrong when using as much stuff as I have on a Ai net system
holy jeebus! thats some detail. i really need to tear my truck down to deaden the side panels. ima have to go the poor mans route and do peel n seal like i did in my doors. might even do a larger run of power for future upgrades. maybe 2 gauge. i dont want ridiculous power.
I hear ya on the poor mans route. I did another truck in peel and seal, and with enough layers it has really quieted down the truck. However by the time you add up all the extra layers needed, It's not too much more to do second skin. Plus peel and seal can bleed through carpet and headliner if you are not careful. As far as power wire goes, I would suggest going up to a 1/0 size. Yeah you may never need to pull that much current through it, but buying accessories for that size wire is way cheaper and easier to find.
i agree with kingsuv, just get some 0 gauge pedro..and it looks like you're doing some wild stuff to that excursion man, im anxious to see how it turns out. i also saw you were using knukonceptz's twisted speaker wire, i really dislike that stuff lol
yeah i hear ya on the bleeding thru part but im only going to do my side panels. the floor and roof arent bad at all.
