I am wanting to get some "box" programs.......Just curious what yall use here

Also wondering if there any for free on the net that are worth damn, and especially ones that will run under Linux SUSE 10 (its what i try to use at all times, except for gaming, dual boot system) If no linux software, winblows would be fine

    Thanks

I really like WinISD. Its fast simple and easy. I use it most of the time. I also have BassBox Pro. Its a little pricey. Around $120. But it will even give you a parts list with all the cut out dimensions. It even comes with a 360 page book on how to run it. There is also a BassBoxLite, it doesnt have a driver database, its around $70.

But unless you do this for a living you really don't need BassBox.
I use WinISD 99% of the time. It works great and its fast and easy.

I'd really like to find a copy of LEAP 4.0

I use WinISD...it is very simple and easy to use.

Well I tried searching for the LEAP 4.0 torrent and came up empty handed...I'll ask my friend who is more computer educated and see if he can find it for me....I wanna try it out and see how it compares to WinISD

Ok, got the pro version downloaded, playing with it a little bit...seems decent enough, especially for a free design!!! I am gunna try some known box designs that i have proven over the years and see if it is fairly accurate!!! This oughta be fun, i havent played with one of these in a LONG time!

The only fault that WinISD has is that it defaults toward the flattest response. The problem is that you can end up with some really odd box sizes and some impossible tuning recommendations.

When this happens its usually with a speaker that is not optimized for a ported enclosure and you chose ported. The reason I use it 99% of the time, is that it works well. You can make changes and adjustments very fast. Comparing boxes is also super easy.

Do a box, leave the graph and then do another one. On the second design, go to plot and you can change the color of the second graph (that way we can distingish from plot 1 and plot 2) Make changes on 2 and see the difference between 1 and 2.

Very useful program. By the way, I only have BassBox Pro at home, not at work, too time consuming to use at work. WinISD is faster
