hey, every time i get out of my car i'm scared to close the door because i know i will get a nice little shock. Even if i push the door closed with my jacket kind of over my hand the shock still goes through lol. This is a new thing, wasn't happening before. I have seen cars with a strap on their back bumper that just hangs there close to the ground, is this what i need or is it something i did wiring my amp or stereo.

Depends where you live. Winter time here at least brings out the static electricity big time. Low humidity and sliding along the seat to get out of the car equals a nice little jolt.

It is very cold here, a little frost on the car.

Maybe i can jump out of the car when i get out and as i'm flying through the air close the door before my feet hit the ground...:)

I know, i kind of like it, keeps up my internal power level. Electricity and I go way back....Have been through a lot together lol, it's my curse. Still remember that first jolt from the wall outlet like it was yesterday...

maybe.... just maybe.. a power wire is cut and is touching the chassis of the car..? or if that was the case, your amps wouldn't turn on right? I don't know, just a thought.

If a power wire was touching ground...than either a fuse would blow or a fire would start

you aint been "zapped" till youve been hit by 2 phases of a 480v line.....The curent tha went through my right wrist and hand sent me back on my ass about 8 feet away and tripped out a 100 amp breaker. Mild burns to the hand and felt really "odd: for the next day. Dont wish that on anyone. It was due to a faulty plug in on a welder.

Hey, it was static buildup, the shock has went down in strength through the days and now is gone! I kind of miss it now lol. That feeling you know it's coming and get ready for it but it still gets you good.:)

When i was a kid, i went over to my friends house and he was telling me that he put a fork in the wall socket while sitting on the vinyl floor and the shock would push him back sliding down the floor. I kind of didn't beleive him and asked him to show me but he wouldn't. He would sit there on the floor with the fork and say look, just like this moving the fork close to the outlet.:) Well I never did try that ! But it was the beginning of my curiosity of electricity.:)
