I may possibly bid on this unit.....but I will probably not put it in my car audio system..I can think of some other possibilities for it....if I bid my ID is listen67

It is basically just a stereo compressor/limiter with a few knobs/features missing from a standard pro audio compressor....Usually you have an adjustable attack and release times as well as ratio, threshold and make up gain...and pro audio versions have either 1/4" jacks or XLR type jacks...

Basically what this unit does is it will even out peaks and valleys in the audio signal....

threshold....that basically tells the unit how much signal is allowed in before the unit activates
Ratio....That tells the unit how much to compress....for example it could compress at a low to medium ratio....or limit at the higher setting....
Gain....this allows the gain reduced by compression to be brought back up..

Where this little baby might work well is in a couple places....

First....In a live PA rig, it could be ran in the insert jack of a lead vocal....Could be put in as a limiter, so when they decide to let out a ferocious scream you don't expect, it will keep the gain from the mic from clipping the channel strip, hence distorting the vocal out of the mains...

Second....Can be inserted as a limiter for and IEM (in ear monitor) set up as a safety device to limit the signal and keep from blowing yer freakin eardrums out (like when the lead guitar player switches to his death metal patch for that smokin lead and the signal jumps up 10 db....ouch....)

Or it could be used to even out a bass or electric guitar.... cause the open string notes can be slightly louder than the fretted ones...
