For all those of you that have been here a while know that I have a DVD player in my truck.

Now its only purpose is to show off, I never keep a DVD in my truck. So the only time I can show it off is when I'm at the shop or at home.

Well DVD players are getting old, so I've decided to try something different. Instead of a DVD player, why not use a video Ipod. Seriously, I can load 100 full length movies on it, with room to spare.

I've loaded 20 movies, Season 1 of The Man Show, various other TV shows, and 22 Music videos and its not even half full yet.

So far building the new ashtry (Ipod Holder) has been pretty straight forward. The ashtry had to be cut out and modded to open further. But so far everything has been pretty easy and basic.

I've got a bit more work to do and I need to order one more thing to make everything work. I'm taking my time, I'm in no hurry so it will be a month or two before its all in. But it will be cool.

The AV cable is made by Apple and as far as I know it is the only cable that will work with the new Ipod Classic and the new Nano. The AV cable will also charge the ipod.

The older Video Ipod will work with a cheaper cable made by PAC. The PAC IC-AV will also charge the ipod. Even an older 30 Gig Video Ipod will hold about 40 full length movies.

A little texture and a little color, then installing it all.

I like this slow, no pressure install thing. Its working for me
