well i got my new woofer l5. i bought a dual 2ohm but got a dual 4. my question is should i run it in a 8ohm load, then bridge it to my punch 800 wich i think will do 400rms@ a 8ohm load. i think the amp will run cooler, but is it still a good idea or just send it back and hope for a dual 2. the l5 is a 450rms woofer.

Why don't you just return the sub and get the DVC 2ohm? Since you said your sub is 450 RMS i'm assuming it's a 10" L5.. Did you just buy one sub or 2? What does your amp do a 2ohms?

400 watts at 8 ohms is a good deal of power.

i'm running 450watts from my nine.5 amp at 2 ohms and it is way more than i need for every day music.its just nice to have extra power.lol

my punch 800 will do 400rms @ 2ohm per chanel.or 800rms bridged @ 4ohm load. i only got one becouse of the limited space i have. should i send it back, or run it at a 8ohm load and bridge it to my amp, and will my amp run cooler, less stress?

not only will it run cooler, it'll run wayyy more efficiently. so less stress on your electrical.

no body likes the kid with the super loud system that bumps it at 2 AM. although im sure many would admit they've been that way;)

No jonny your not going to knock stuff off of walls, I have 1 L7 with 1500 watts and its loud but its not going to make any sonic booms. Besides who cares what your system sounds like OUTSIDE of your car . I agree with G3 nobody likes the punk kid outside of your house at 2 am booming his stereo, esp when you have to get up at 5 am to go to work. Besides booming your stereo just makes it a mark for thieves esp here in so cal
