ok im about to get a HO alternator from dominic...its a 185 amps for my little 2002 neon(shorty gonnabe slammin) right now i have a stock batt...and 2 1 farad caps... an audiobahn1300hc(1300X1) for bass and mtx4424(50X4 for highs) 4 guage power goin from the batt to a disto block...then 8guage going to each amp(9-12 inches each) my question is do i need to add anyting else...like replace my stock batt with a redtop...and or add a yellow top for the back?? if lets say hypothetically if i had a redtop....both caps...a yellowtop...with the HO alt. could i run two of the audiobahn amps...meaning....2600-2800 watts rms??? thanks...any help is appriciated
Yeah...you'll wanna replace your stock speakers pretty soon.. If you're going to have over 2500w RMS you probably oughta consider a deep cycle batt. under the hood and something like a yellow top in teh trunk.
well...my mids and highs are gonnabe stock for awhile....they sound pretty descent especially with the amp on them... 6.5 inch components and 6x9's....probably the best stock stereo speakers ive heard.... if anyone wants to trade me a set of cadence components and 6x9's...for my xbox and 5 games(with xbox live) let me know and mike...shut ur hole...i only make 8.50 an hour....lol...if i had the money...id get a stratus rt... B) pzzz so then i really dont need to upgrade anything until i get another amp correct??? oh and WHEN i do upgrade to better speakers... im gonna get a jl 300/4 75X4 =) thnx again
I had my stock speakers amplified for a while... that didn't last long. Just wait til you get the subs in, and you'll see what i mean .
You dont have to but i would say upgrade to 1/0 gauge wire. I have heard those amps are power hungry so it couldnt hurt and probably would help a lot.
