I finally got my new amp.I ended up with a alpine m1000.Right now my subs are facing forward.I drive a '99 grand prix with a flip down in the center of the back seat. The box is ported with 3 10" subs in it.If your looking at the front,2 subs center height and 1 in the middle up higher with the 4"x10" port underneath of it.I have no room to spare, the box just barely fits underneath my rear deck.Even side to side is real tight. My question is do I just turn the box around and put it back under the deck or leave it closer to the tail light panel?Sorry for the long post,I just thought I'd include all of my specs and area.It doesn't hit as hard with 3 subs as it did with 2(same subs),but I had the other box facing rear up against the tail light panel. If anybody has played around with a grand prix, your input will be appreciated.

In trunk cars you want the subs and port facing the rear bumper. To find out if its better closer to the bumper or farther, try em both.

That's what I thought but was not sure.It has a echo sound right now that almost sounds like a sub bottoming out. Thanks,I'll try that tomorrow.

I have a 98 a4 and I've found out that if you have the subs facing towards the trunk and having it as close as you can to the trunk. Thats what I found to make the subs sound the best/loudest. try that and see how it works

i would think the reasoning behind facing the subs towards the rear and them sounding better would be that its turning your trunk into a sort of 4th or 6th order box.

its a ported box firing into a larger open space( not perfectly sealed) and the sound finds its way into the cabin.

i mean it makes sense right?

Yes it does.I had the box about 1ft away from the back seat with my pass through open.It sounded almost like a sub bottoming out.Even with the volume turned down and the gains lower than they should of been. But I was worried that I had either a sub out of phase or the rebuilt sub just had to break in.2 subs broke in and 1 tight one,I just didn't know.
