    Helooo:)

Im all new to this not that long passed my test,I have been given a Diamond amp to run a sub but the lpf dial doesn't turn all the way round,First i thought it was broke but was told thats how it is and its all guess work,So how on earth do you know where to start from as there is no little pointer so you wouldn't really know if its anywhere near 70hz etc .

How would you know if its in the middle it just looks like this.

    The amp is a Diamond D1 250.2

x-over frequency is a subjective thing. Just cause it says one thing doesnt mean its actually SPOT on.... If your having issues with determining the exact frequency... dont worry about it. Adjust it in small increments up or down while listening to music you are VERY familiar with and how that music should sound. That on top of car audio acoustics and the way subs interact with your vehicle makes it a small albeit fun challenge to find the sweet spot..it will take a few days for you to find that spot.. I would start in the middle and go down from there as a beginning. then up from your reference point.....let your ears decide!
