i own a set of eclipse se8375 speakers i need to know what size i need the enclosures need to be and also what materials thank you
copy and pasted from your other post. so you are putting full range speakers behind your seat.. decided to go with the Ford/Mazda 5x7 size and want to know what size enclosure you should use? Is this the question to my understanding? If so, first of all, you need to measure how deep the speaker itself it so you know the minimum depth of the enclosure. Next, you need to figure out the shape of the enclosure to conform to the space you have available. Finally you need to figure out how much air space is optimal for that particular speaker. Perhaps email the manufacturer for how much air space is needed.. assuming you are sealing the enclosure you wont need to worry about ports. Now i personally dont have experience making enclosures for full range speakers.. my experience is with subs at thats about it when it comes to box building. This is the best I can help you. Now the final results of full range speakers behind a seat isnt going to be very.. well nevermind you don't want to hear about that apparently. On a side note you can easily use the speaker itself to figure out the actual hole size you will need to cut.
Air space requirements for a 5x7 speaker are aolmost non- existant, meaning, they normally operate in free air, which means, they can operate in a VERY tiny box and still perform well. Heck, give them about .2 cubic feet per speaker ( give or take) or so and they will do just fine. YES, it WILL work
