I plan way ahead, I was wondering how would you run components off an amp. Soon I'm getting 2 sets of CDT Audio 5.25 Components CDT Audio CL-S50A - CDT Audio Classic 5.25" 2 Way Component Speakers and I'll be running them off I haven't decided fully yet of the amp, but it will be 4 channels, Kenwood KAC-8404 50 @ 4ohms, 75 @ 2ohms... but might be something else. Opinions? Oh and I plan on having my crossovers right by the amps in the trunk.

I was looking at those CDT's as well. I really want to get the 6.5's. It seems like a great deal.

As far as wiring them, it's pretty simple. The CDT's come with a crossover, it will have 4 connections going into the crossover (2 for the mids and 2 for the tweets). You just connect them right up to the crossover then thee will be wires coming out of the crossover. those wires you put straight into the amp.

What's your budget for an amp? those CDT's can handle 100watts rms at 4ohms. Also, what kind of car do you have? My ford only takes 5x7/6x8 but i can fit 6.5's in there. 6.5's would prolly be better than the 5.25's if you can fit them in.

My budget for the amp, I wanna try and keep it under $200 - 225, maybe try and get a kicker amp. I don't wanna give them too much power, because I will be the one to turn it up all the way and blow the highs. I'm doing an upgrade and within the month I should be getting two L5's and maybe the amp to power them.. I drive an 02' Grand Marquis, with 5x7, 6x8 so I can probably also fit the 6.5" in there also. I do like to keep brands the same.

    Kicker ZX650.4 - 4-Channel ZX-Series Power Amplifier • 170W RMS x 4 @ 2 • KickBass • 4-Way Protection • Aluminum EndKaps • Adjustable Input Gain • High and Low Level Inputs - , Car Amplifiers, Multi-channel Amps - Sonic Electronix
This has more than 100rms, it's that I'll turn it up until my ears hurt lol.

what kind of car do you have? I found out that in my ford expedition i can fit 6.5's in the 5x7 slot. It just needs a little modification.

THD is distortion, so the lower distortion percentage the better.

Buying off ebay is fine as long as you buy from a power seller that has good feedback. I've bought off ebay many times without any problems.

That MTX amp looks real good to me...

yea the 5.25 will be more voice than anything... THD is Total Harmonic Distortion... 1% is pretty bad for speakers... subs wont be noticeable.
