So I've got a pair of alpine SPX 17REFs (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10185_Alpine-SPX-17REF.html) and I've also got this jl amp (http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=610). Basically the speaker rms power is 75 watts, peak-225watts and I want to bridge my amp so its 180x2. I'm just wondering if that is too much power for the speakers to handle on a daily basis. My other option is to also wire the rear speakers into the amp but I'd like the majority of the power to the front speakers. Thanks guys :D.

IMO u will be putting too much power to them. RMS for each component is 75w. You want to feed them 180 watts RMS each. Thats more than 3x their rated RMS. I would run one channel to each of your 4 speakers ( 2 front 2 rear). Or consider getting front components that have a higher RMS rating. My 2 cents.

You also not have stereo if you bridged the amp. Do as Moster said and run all 4 speakers off the amp. Then use your HU to fade to the front.

75x3=225 lol but yea i hear ya. I have a feeling that the speakers are going to be pretty quite but I'd rather not harm anything.

my amp actually allows me to keep the stereo by splitting the rca's and feedng them to 2 different channels so basically you can fade between the two channels.
