With a total Q of around .7 you are on mark for an "audiophile" enclosure, will sound very good in the car, play most all music with a slight bump in the upper vass region. What does your sons musical taste involve> If he like s rock and country, great use it, if he likes that rap "stuff" might think about a something different, but overall, that box would do a good job, now, i need to look at the amps in your links!!!!!! back in a few
The amp is only 2 ohm stable, the woofers are 4 ohm each, the amp APPEARS to only do low pass on 2 of the channels.,,,,,,,,,,,,,can you return the amp? (if i am reading the specs right)
when i bought the amp i either lost the recipt immediately or i didnt get one ...any way it was 60 at a sony outlet (refurbished) if the amp is not good enough thatn what do i need....p.s. he likes that rap stuff and rock...it does look like only low pass on rear

well that sony amp fried up..my wife walked into sony, amp in hand, no box no receipt and said "this doesnt work" lol and they gave here a gift card someone suggested this amp http://sonicelectronix.com/item_1995.html and so i oredered it and they called me saying it was a back ordered and substituted this amp for the same price http://sonicelectronix.com/item_2680.html# i hope this does the trick
