Hey all! I'm new here (Yes I know there is a new member thread. Bear with me this is not my grand hello lol) and I just purchased a 2001 Chrysler 300M. This car is a one owner vehicle driven by an elderly woman. So in other words the stereo has never been tested :D.

Now what I think I want to do is stick with the stock infinity sound system and just finish it off with Infinity subs and amp. Here is my question. I have an Alpine cda 9851 deck from my previous vehicle. Would it be better to keep the stock console deck or to install my Alpine deck and is there anything specific I should know about installing it.

If anyone has a 300M, any knowledge would be helpful!

    Thanks!

if you want stealth i would keep the oem deck. and use a line out converter for the sub.

that all depends upon you. an aftermarket head unit would be better but like pedro said, If you really would like to keep the stock head unit then just buy LOC (line output converter)

Yea def go with the LOC if you're keeping the HU stock. But if you really want the baby bentley to pump i wouldnt go with infinity.

Cool! Thanks for the tips! Well, I have had the car now for a few days and I have come to realize there is not enough bass! I don't know if it is the speakers or if it is how the OEM deck and sound system is set up. In any case it doesn't bounce enough for my liking!

does it have a factory sub?

if so you can tap into the sub out to the input of a sub amp. with an loc of course.

But remember... a loc will deter some sound quality. Not too much if you get a good one (that is some info I picked up here when I joined)

Yeah I looked into that! That seems to be a good way to go with the loc. I have also come to realization I need to replace the front speakers but have heard there can be issues with this. Can anyone shed any light on that for me?
