I was looking for my Manufacture Plate for my new truck (tring to find the Pain Color Code so I can get some Touch up paint) and I found a Choo Choo Customs Plate on the Driver Side Door jam I found a Choo Choo Customs Web Site, but they dont have the same address as listed on my Plate, and the Plate is dated about the same time as the Manufacturer Date on this truck any idea what they might have done to it, or how to find out? does this increase the value of my truck in anyway?
lets start with year make and model....do you notice anything out of the ordinary?...non-factory rims, dual exhaust ...driving lights....i would imagine this is a GM product...but i could be wrong
There is another thread with all that info but it is a 1991 K1500 Sliverado, 4x4 Yes it has non factory wheel, Brush gaurd, Custom Graphics, Alteze Tail Lights, and a Bunch of other Stuff, but it is a 91, that is 12 years old, Most of that looks to be After Market, but not something like Choo Choo Customs Would have done back in 1990, Except maybe the Grill/Brush Grard and Grapics I will buy batteries for my Camera Today at work and Takes pics for you
Yeah, Choo Choo Customs typically does 2wd trucks I believe.. they are usually mildly lowered, have custom paint- conservative but cool type things - and have really luxed-out interiors - full custom leather upholstery, hardwood dash and door panels, even limousine/high end RV style ceiling treatments. Possibly Choo Choo Customs has a bigger relationship with GM than you thought... Just like...is it SLP? and the SS Camaros and WS6 T/A's... that's all outsourced, modified in a non-GM facility. Maybe Choo Choo Customs handled all of the CD changers or something really minute like that... is there anything other than the brush guards on the truck that might be along those paths? If it's not a full choo-choo customs custom, then I don't think your truck's resale will be magically lifted... Even if it was, it would honestly still relate to the condition of the vehicle, you know how that goes... you can get DeLoreans and Maseratis of the past that are in beaten condition for a couple grand...
I have no idea what kind of relationship choo choo has with GM, nor did i claim to, nor do I care to Radio wise it had Stock 4x6 Delco Speakers, and the Delco 2 peice Radio/Tape/EQ unit which has been removed by me at this point B) Interior is nothing speical, as far as design goes, they are the Bench/bucket type seats, each side it adjustable, but it seats all the way across Red Cloth inside and it is a 4x4, I would not have bought it if it was not I am not really concerned with the resell value, I bought it Saturday, and not plaing on selling it any time soon it just intrested me when I seen that label, trying to get a little more info as to what was done by them, and if those modifactions are still on the truck, or if tey have been removed or changed in some why and I know what Choo Choo Customs does today, but maybe they did things differant in 91, I know they did some neat stuff with the Elk's in the 80's but they were based in TN then, according the web site I found they are now based in IN, my state.... I dont know, just trying to get alittle Background on my new purchase
choo choo has been located in IN for at least since '97....that is when i attended a course there on repairing their seat belt units...GM does order mild packages from them...which will include 4x4 accesorries such as brush gaurds, tail light assm/covers/guards...they go from custom step panals/running boards to standard crome/aluminum step bars...sometimes they go with graphics...sometimes they do not...it all depends on what the dealership ordered...their relationship is actually with GM then the dealerships pick their stock up from there...i have personally seen a truck come in where there is nothing special except driving lights....if it's not factory GM...and it came that way from the dealership...it is always from a conversion company...even the new trucks you are starting to see now on the lots that are equipped with plows are conversions...i think with the truck being 12 years old it does not help too much with resale...but you can say you have a choo choo silverado
