I think, I have this worked out but check my thinking. :wacko: Long story short due to a faulty install. My JL 500/5 bit the dust I'm pulling it out and sending it in to get fixed. In the mean time, I got a PowerBass ASA 1100.5. More power but not sure how clean it will be. Anyway, the vehicle is a 2004 Dodge 1500 Ram. The fronts are Polk Audio DB691 6x9 (4 ohm), rears are Boston Acoustic pro50se 5 1/4 (4 ohm), my sub is a JL Audio Stealth Box with 10W3v3-4 wired 4 ohm mono. The Powerbass will run in three settings 4 ohms: 75 watts x 4 chan. + 250 watts x 1 chan. 2 ohms: 150 watts x 4 chan. + 500 watts x 1 chan. 4 ohm Mono: 300 watts x 2 chan. + 500 watts x 1 chan. Now to get 500w to the sub, I'll have to bridge the front and rear channels? running 4 ohm mono, Correct? Now the Polks can handle the 300w but how would it sound in mono? I could run the front and rears at 2 ohms but this will do me no good because the sub is 4 ohm. Is my thinking correct? Thanks
That's what I was thinking. I just don't see a way to run 4 ohms with the sub at 500w unless I bridge the channels. I maybe reading the instuctions wrong but that's what it looks like to me. I'd ask at Powerbass but it appears their website is down.
