Well guys, i was gona purchase 2 RE SX 15s, but 2day i found a good deal on 2 cerwin vega vmax 15s that my buddy has for sale. My question is: i looked on their website to look at the specs of the speaker. On one part of the website i found the recommended ported enclosure to be 2 cubic ft. I looked on another part of the site and it recommended a 3.5 cubic ft box. Which size should i build? I will be picking up the speakers tomorrow. I will post pics.

I figured out the answer so im gona build a 3 cubic ft box per sub so that will be a 6 cubic ft box total. I have the design thanks to G3. I have the materials but im going out of town this weekend so i want start on it. I may get the pieces cut out this week and if i do, ill post pics. I should be picking up the subs this week also. I will post pics of those also.

When i build my new box, do i need to put the port in the middle of the box between the two speakers or on one end?

that would all depend upon the design. you could go either way, port center or port on the side.

just put em on the same side as the subs.

I think the port in the middle looks the best, i was just asking to make sure it didnt make any difference where i put it. Hopefully ill be starting this box next week and will post lots of pics.

Here is 2 designs i came up with. Yea i no these boxes dont look the same size, but im not very good with paint. This is just a sketch to get and idea. Which one do yall think is the best? The box is about 5.8 cubic ft with a 4"x16.5"x18" port.

Or i could do a box like the one in the bottom of this pic. I would just have to refigure the volume of the port.

well, i think the dimensions that G3 gave you is for a port on the side of the box, not the middle. you may have to ask him what the port walls 1 and 2 measurements should be if you want to put it in the middle.

I think this new system is going to knock pretty good. To power these subs, im getting a crossfire vr1000d, and red top battery, and do the big 3 upgrade. Im still not sure what all the big 3 consists of though.
