    Okay, I'm getting a JL Audio 10" w3v3-2 subwoofer with a Alpine M500 amp.
    sub: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=24
    amp: http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=MRP-M500

I have a 1999 honda civic si and I'll be putting the box in the trunk.
I mostly listen to rap/hip hop and techno crap...

I want to go with sealed because I'd love to conserve space and I would think ported would make everything rattle like nuts.(Too cheap to dynamat everything)

But for Hip Hop and Rape etc they say ported is best, and louder.

I personally just want something that you can feel in the car and right outside of it. And sounds great.

    What would you recommend?
Sealed will cost me $60 to be made while ported will run me $120 in Canadian dollars =)

there will be a much better difference in the ported box. i suggest you do it. you shouldnt notice too much ratling either. if you do u can go the poor mans route with peel and seal at home depot or get the elemental designs 45 mil mat for $1/sq.ft

This really doesn't have anything to do with this thread I just wanted to know if you had anymore box calculaters.. or one with subs to amps or anything like that.. cause it really helped.. and it was fun to play with.. lol..

you could always just open a new thread in the general car audio section.

to answer your question. i keep hearing about 12volt tech or something like that, that also has a program.
