I have a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT with the Infinity Sound System. Originally, my speakers had no sound coming out of them. I thought it was because of a faulty stock head unit. Then, I installed my aftermarked Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD head unit--still no sound. Now, there are two things that could be faulty: either the factory amp or a blown fuse or something. Anyways, I'm trying to bypass the factory amp and see if that fixes the problem. I've removed my rear seats and side panel and removed the factory amp.

Where do I go from here? I've heard you have to cut and splice the wires but I'm not sure. I don't want to run wires from the head unit to each speaker as that would be a PITA. I know there's an easier way to do it since all the wires are connected to the stock amp. Detailed instructions would be nice since I'm kind of an audio noob ;).

ok, here's your problem. I read abouy this in the tibby forum..

all the inifinity speakers are 3ohm (weird) and the normal car speakers are 4ohm so you may have to change out all your speakers unless your amp is 2ohm stable then you should be fine.. if you want to bypass the factory amp from what i know is you just cut the the power, ground, remort and speakers (that you want to hook up to the amp) from your factory amps harness then connect it up to your new amp. should be pretty simple. kinda funny that nobody but instructions for that on the forum.

when you cut these wires make sure you do it about 3 inches away from the harness so if you want to put it back it will be easy to do

    so cut the following:

from the first pic in your link provided:
    number 1, 8, 16 and 12.

    From the 2nd pic
the numbers of the speakers you want to put on the amp. both positive and negative.

you stock amp will no longer work and you should be good. don't connect the harness back into the stock amp anymore after that, just leave it detached.
