building a box?

    so im thinking about my box dimensions for my 13w7 and i talked to this guy at a custom shop, he said that jl is "real strict" about their box dimensions and if i dont build the box to jl's specs, its going to blow. i wanted to build a box about 3.5-3.75 cu (maybe even 4 cu ft) ft tuned to about 38 hz. you guys think this is a bad idea?

    also, he also said that nobody uses box terminals anymore??? he said that i should just drill a hole in the side of the box, run the wire through and silicone it up....

    that dude is retarded...the box specs can be whatever the install calls for. That guy is a retard

    this is regarding the terminals.......

    for me it was easier to drill a hole and silicone it up,only cause i used 8 gauge wire for my subs.

    For me speaker terminals are just easier to use.

    drilling a hole is fine...terminals are easier for installing and uninstalling.

    I prefer a good 5 way binding post terminal.

    that's exactly what I used for both of my boxes...

    I got a question for all of you... what gauge wires do you use from the sub to the terminals? I find it really hard getting the wires to fit especially when i'm wiring my 13Ov.2's
