First, Hey folks new here, hope I can get some help seems pretty friendly around here . Second, The car audio world is complety new to me. So I really have no idea what I'm doing. Ok so here is what I've put together....(This is for a 98' Trans AM) Deck - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t..._shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3ADWMNXT7FS32&v=glance Amp - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t..._shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3ADWMNXT7FS32&v=glance 6.5" Speakers (x2 sets)- http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t..._shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3ADWMNXT7FS32&v=glance 4" Speakers - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t..._shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2A0CZG0007A9F&v=glance Ok obviously I like Pioneer (good brand right?) everything I've ever owned from them was top quality. I listen to a very wide spectrum of music. If anyone has XM I listen to 56 a lot, just the "improvised jam session" music. Though I'll also listen to hard rock/metal/hip hop from time to time, but my focus really wants to be more on a good solid high volume while remaining clear and crisp. Less on heavy beats, but those are good too. So here's some questions .... So will this system even work well? How do you think it would sound? Is it a good build for a budget build? So I have the monsoon system that was factory installed in a lot of Pontiacs. It calls for 6.75" for the front door and middle speakers, will the 6.5"s work fine there? (I'm thinking yes) Would that amp be able to handle a sub? Maybe just one 10" in the future if I decided to. Last, How much "generally" would an audio shop charge to install all these pieces? Obviously I'm not qualified to do it myself considering I had to come here to just figure out if it'll all actually fit and work. Thanks for your help guys I really appreciate it. I have never had a quality sound system before, there's always been something buzzing or rattling, so I'm excited to get this figured out.
It's ok... How much are you looking to spend for everything? I think we could do something better. the 6.5" will fit in a 6.75" hole no problem... could the amp handle a sub? Yes, it could but it can only feed it like 150watts. Lastly, I would say you can do it all yourself. It's really not that hard at all. Actually pretty simple. I'd say safe your money that you'll spend on labor and so it yourself. WE can help you out with everything on the forums.
