I recieved a pair of Infinity perfect 10.1 subs this Christmas,Infinity reccommends a 1 cu ft ported box,350 rms,10" long 3"dia port tube,my experience with 10's many years ago was that 1.5 cu ft was a good size, programs like leap, and Mcspeakerz generally verified this, since physics hasn't changed since the roman empire can some one enlighten me.what is a optimun encloseur for these

Modern subs seem to require a smaller box than those of yesteryear....

Do you have the specs for the speakers????????

The manufacturer of the sub is NOT going to publish a design that will make the speakers sound like crap!!! So it may very well be accurate. Post a link to the info, that would help alot!!!!!!!

I do have the manufactures specs,I guess as far as box sizing I'M still in yester year, now is a 200 watt yesteryear amp going to make a this year speaker happy? (Soundstream D200 bridged mono,240@4 ohm)

    LOL!!!!

A D200 Soundstream is not the BEST sub amp in the world....but i wil say this for i...it will make for a VERY nice SQ amp....If you want the BOOOOM BOOOOM crap to roll for blocks, then no, its not the best. i would personally LOVE to have that old amp!!!!! it is the kind of amp that just sounds good, like it aint even there!!!! But it does have its shortcomings, it is limited in its output, and does not like to be driven HARD....Do NOT load it below 4 ohms mono!!!! and be sure it has room to breathe! They like to run on the hot side. A small fan would help its longevity....

Just know the ampsw limits and it will do a fine job....i used he d200 for many subs in years past, it always did good.......but i only sold them to folks that knew the limits of a sytem or would never crank it loud (read rich folks that wanted a nice system in there Mercedes/Porsche/Ferrari) They weere old and cared more about good sound as opposed to loudness, kind of like me now!!!!

Viking my Soundstreams were never run below 4 ohms, the 200's were driving 4 10's in a 89 t-bird 100 watts a 10 gains not set high .I always liked SQ,not boom, but never got rich(poor but honest)I guess thats why Ihave an FJ instead of a Lexus:lol:

I would use the 1.5 cu ft size. I would also increase the port Diameter to 4-inch. If the increase from 3 to 4 inch cause a port that is too long, increase the box size to 1.75. This will give you a really good performing sub.

Had to add my 10-cents worth
