I just got 2 12" Alpine Type R subwoofers..I want to build a custom setup in my ford focus that has them each on a seperate box on each side of the trunk. Does anyone know the dimensions I should use for each box with these subs?

Depends on if you want them in a sealed or ported enclosure. Also how much room you want to use. Smalled sealed? Large sealed? Large ported?

A cubic foot is fine but it is still not a dimension.

Skeet, (lol) what are your dimensions of your trunk area? How would we know what to tell you if we don't know what we're working with.

well the floor is 41"from side to side and 32.5" for back to front...I want to put one box on each side back corner...and then i will build a amp rack for 2 amps in the middle of the trunk area

its gone around my mind, but doesent it cost more to do, im trying to do it myself and im not really sure how, but if it costs the same and i could get some good directions i could probaly do it...and then i would be even more lost in what size to make it, but if you all can help me i know fiberglass looks better. Also I heard but im not sure that boxs sound better than fiberglass, feel free to correct me tho.

A box made of MDF or Fiberglass will sound the same if built correctly...a crappy mdf box will sound like a crappy made fiberglass box.

ill need some good instructions because i have never worked with fiberglass before, but i guess it would be a good idea, after i make the sub boxes i could make some kick panels for my 6 1/2 inch polks...
