How's it going, just found this forum and thought this would be the place to ask. Bought this box with 2 L7 12's in it (ported) from a friend 4 or so years ago. Big as hell, but they sounded damn good. On spring break 2 years ago, blew them (my fault, not tuned, just turned up however they sounded loudest). So, I have a friend coming to visit from out of town for Xmas and says he has 2 L7's brand new in the box to replace those for a ridiculously cheap price. That has since sparked my interest and I got my box out of storage and was wondering, is the box the right size? I know it pounds, but, could I maybe get more out of them? http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/pokry5/l7enclosure.jpg
its about 3.2 cu ft per driver tuned around 38Hz. Not bad at all...question is the box solidly built?
Very solid. Here are pics. http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/pokry5/DSC03573.jpg http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/pokry5/DSC03574.jpg http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/pokry5/DSC03576.jpg http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/pokry5/DSC03577.jpg
if you like it i'd keep it. i'm sure its designed well considering its size. A box that size has to be reducing your power handling to. By how much do you think azn?
L7's like big boxes...3 cu ft for one 12 isn't too big. 1000 watts isn't out of the question if its clean. I'd try a crx style enclosure though
dang thats a big box. thats in a blazer or jimmy right? im in tampa, not too far from you. you should hit up a local show sometime and get it on a meter.
