sigh...so i cant get a box design and i've been playing with re's box calculator (thats what i used for my other boxes) but i hear it isnt very accurate. im looking for a box design for my dc lvl 4 15". the sub calls for about 3-3.5 cu ft after displacement and im looking for tuning around 34-36hz.

    max dimensions i would use:
    height - 17-18"
    width - 38"
    depth - 16"

that sucks. nobody would help you out from DC audio? I know that the RE box calculator isn't really accurate.

Or we can try your max dimensions.
With an outside dimensions of 38-wide, 18-tall, and 16-deep, we should be able to get some respectable performance

The port needs to be 16.5 inches by 3-inches wide. The length of the port will need to be about 22- inches long.

This should get you a pretty respectable box.

so after port displacement and sub displacement, this box puts me around 3.8cu ft, which is close enough lol. but one question ranger, you said the length of the port will be 22 inches long...how would i make that?? like say i have two pieces of wood, how long would each be to make the 22inches?

OK we can make it a bit smaller, but not much smaller. How about 36-inches across, 16-1/2-inches tall and we will keep the 16-inches deep. That means that the port will be 15-inches tall, 3-inches wide. This port will need to be around 20 t0 21-inches long.

As far as the volume thing, the port is NOT included in our volume calculations.

As far as the 21-inch port look at the box building thread
