So my left speaker cut out today and was randomly coming back up to full volume.. Messed with the amp, amp is fine. When i push the cone down the speaker plays at somewhat normal volume.. I can smell a bit of something burnt when i stick my nose in it. Obviously its done for but does anyone know exactly what happened? It doesnt make that scratchy noise when you push the cone down, and it plays music clear when you press the cone down but once you let it go, it plays verryyy low.. Maybe a short in the voice coil?? What happened? =(
I've had the same thing happen to some of my speakers before.. Not sure what caused it, but I am kinda curious to know as well.
