Best video for back seat passengers?

My wife and I take our girls on some pretty long road trips and like to let them watch some movies while on the way. We had a couple of over-the-headrest DVD players (linked be a cord so they watched the same movie) that worked pretty good for about a year, but now they won't play anything, so were looking to replace them.

What I'm looking for is the best video system for the passengers in the back seat. I don't mind spending some money for something that's going to last. Are the IN-the-headrest players better? What is a really good system?

I'm not looking to spend thousands on a couple video players, but give me some good cost vs. quality systems.

The problem with the ones that go OVER the head rest is they don't seem to last very long. We had our other ones about a year before they crapped out. Is there anything that's a bit better quality?
