my buddy has 2 memphis Mclass 12s in a prefab box. now where thinking of building a box thats just for these subs. i say that because all subs like a specific box size/vent tune ? am i right? i mean as brand to brand and power handling less or more. any ways whats the best size/tune for these pacific subs? there in a mid 90s grand am im not sure of all the room we really have for the box just yet. im hoping some one has a car like this that knows how big of a box we could fit in it. should be plenty of room depth wise for a big box if needed.

it wont be used to compete or any thing like that just cruise around playing some rap but he wants it to be louder and best built for these subs.

also he has some old partical bord laying around and was wanting to use it. how much bracing/where to place bracing for this box?

sorry for the miss spelled words im alot better at working with my hands then spelling but math im prity good at that lol

go on the memphis site to get box size recommendations. then at least you will know what size to build to. as far as tuning thats up to you. i like a lower tuning frequency my self. but for louder bass a higher tune will do. or you can go sealed. that should work for your friend too.

If you want it loud, go portedTune to about 35-37 in this application i think and about 2-2.5 cubes per sub. That particle board is going to be hard to work with. If i were you guys, i would go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a sheet of MDF for $25.

the particle board will be real messy too. more messy than mdf, and will leave you with ragged cuts too.

thanks man. yea i like working with MDF myself. i dont like his idea of of using that crapy particle board. my bro works at a cabnet shop so i can get MDF cheap. is there any other typ of wood that works even better for a sub box? just wondering.

i dont really like sealed boxs. they just dont get the SPL up there. i had some of these subs in a sealed box once befor and they sucked SLP wise i then got a vented box from a local shop and wow it was night and day differnce.
