I have a JL 500/1 powering two ED 9kv2's and they sound awesome, just upgrade to two Orion XTR 10" prototype subs.

1-Will the 500/1 handle them, here are the specs of the sub
and 2-do I need a 1000W RMS amp and if so which is best priced and best performer, do not want to spend another $400 and an amp!

    Orion specs.

500/1 will be fine...it puts out more of like 700 watts

I have a 500/1 pushing two Type R's right now...does the job fine.

doubling power increases 3 dbs...won't be much of a noticeable difference from 500 watts to 1000 watts...difference may be in the dynamic output...you got more headroom with 1000 watts than 500 watts but the different isn't too big

Just sell your 500/1 and buy a Nine.1
