I got a bandpass box with two Infinity perfect 10.1s and throughout the use I noticed that a crack in the plexiglass began to form. It did not sound any different so I was not in any rush to replace it but then yesterday I noticed that my woffers sounder really bad, bad enough that I thought I may have blown one of them. I saw that nerly half of the screws that held the plexiglass on were not tight anymore and the glass was vibrating It even broke one of the screws. I was wondering it the plexiglass I used was oo thin because it does vibrate alot even when the screws are tight but it was the thickest I could find (about 1/8 to 1/4 an inch). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what thickness glass or use and what type of screws?

If you can find 3/4" or 1" thick plexiglass it definately wont vibrate or crack. Maybe look through your local yellow pages to see if you can find someone who sells it. Its definately out there though. ;)

1/8-1/4 is way too thin...it would flex too much.

try to get some 3/4 or thicker

Yep, at least 3/4, and 1 inch if its a very large area.

Pedro, your thought on doubling up the plexi is well intended no doubt, but i have to disagree with that idea due to the fact that the two layers would resonate and create a nice buzz sound I am wilingl to bet!

Yea I think Ill go with 1 inch thick because the area I have to cover is 22 3/4 x 11 inches. Thanks for the info.

There is a company on ebay that sells acrylic and plexi. I have bought a ton of plastic off of them they are great. Their names are estreetplastics. They have a ebay store.
