Hey guys ive done quite a bit of reasearch so far trying to find the best set up to put in the trunk. I've pretty much narrowed it down to a pair of AA Assassin 12's or a pair of Phoenix Gold RSd12d's. The PG subs are only about 10 bucks more so not a big deal. As far as music.. I listen to just about everything so it has to be a sub that can play a good spectrum of frequencies. I pretty much think SQL fits me well.. I really want sound quality but I would like to be able to feel the bass at times. If anyone has heard both of these that could give some input it would be really nice. I was considering the AA Arsenals but they have price tag a bit more than I went to spend. I have heard the PG RSd subs are on par with IDMAX subs but have also heard the Assassins are the best SQ sub in the price range.. hard choice for me. The single Kappa Perfect 12 in the trunk is just not doing it anymore.. though it is about 4 years old now.. and I would like to try a new brand. Let me get some links so you know what you are looking at... http://www.ascendantaudio.com/assassin12specs.html and.. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/viewitem.php?id=7290&affiliate=PriceGrabber or http://www.phoenixgold.com/2004/rsdspeakers.html for the company page
Aint never messed with either of them. I am sure either would be a good sub. i always look at sensitivity first, that is VERY important in my book. Power handling.........ya whatever............. Id ont pay attention a whole lot to power handling, cause i always feed my speakers a good clean signal, so it not really an issue. ( I have a 275 SX in the lil ladies car running all 4 FACTORY speakers and a sub, Those factory speakers are seeing and honest 75 watts apeice of good clean power, they are working just fine) Box design would also help to dictate my purchase....which sub would work best for the given amount of room you have. its all in the box baby!
well after a lot of mental debate and looking at the stats I am going to go with the AA Assassins. I can get a smaller amp to run them so thats less stress on my electrical system which is a plus in my book and has a bit higher sensitivity plus a 3 year factory warranty. Plus I just am getting good vibes from the AA Assassins and I trust my gut when it wants to say something.. other than feed me... cause that sucker always wants something.. damn broken record. So anyways, first I got to hook my girls speakers up when I get them on Tuesday.. then buy Christmas gifts with my next check... THEN I will be ordering these bad boys and of course will have plenty of pics to share.
