I am looking at a hifonics z500d mono amp. It is an older Zeus model that puts out 500x1 @2 ohms. Just wondering if this is a decent amp for an Alpine type-r 12" sub that will be wired for 2 ohms. It's rms rating is 500 watts. It will be in a sealed box. Other candidates for an amp is ...hifonics z1000d puts out 750x1 @2 ohms and hifonics bx1000d puts out 500x1 @2 ohms.
That amp will do fine. I have a crappy Profile HA1000 on two type r 12s right now and it beats realy hard even though each sub is getting like 240 watts.
If the hifonics amp is in your price range. I think they have decent amps and are a bang for the buck.
