what subs do you have.because maybe its the box.

there are three things to consider when you want good bass.
    1.box
    2.box
    3.box

really a good box will amaze you.

its not the box, i have a Q-logic ported box. its makin the subs hit harder. i've got some Insignia brand subs. they came as a package with an amp. with the box i got, i sound better than some of my friends with better subs and cheap boxes. so what do you think of MA's?

it IS the box man...a prefab q logic box is crap.

Build on or have one built to the sub.

One 12 in a properly built enclosure will rape your two subs in the q logic box.

    I had MA AUDIO MA120XE 12" DVC SUBWOOFER 2 year's ago
I'm ashamed to admit, but it sounded good, mostly due to good Sony Head Unit, external lowpass crossover on it ...

    Go JBL never looked back..

well dave can tell you about the assassin's from ascendant audio.

in the right box though any decent sub will blow you away.
so if you get those MA's.will they be going in the same box you have or a new box?

i'm gonna use the q-logic box. i paid $170 for it and i'm gonna use it til it falls apart, or i can sell it. thanks for the link, i'm about to check it out. and as far as amps, i'm using a cheap ass American Pro 1000watt, and a Power Acoustik 520watt. haven't bridged them yet though. Plus i have a 4 channel alpine amp, but it has very low power. the AP amp isn't a real 1000 watt amp, so it should be around 700-800 or so, then with the PA amp, i'll have enough to push the MA subs with no hassle.

I would NOT recommend using two DIFFERENT amps for a set of subs...unless the amps are THE SAME EXACT AMPS.

I just built a new ABC box for my brother's one 12 inch MTX sub and with 300 watts rms it will beat out most two 12 inch setups.

Sorry but you got ripped on that box...for 170 you could have had a simple custom vented box built...just because you paid 170 for it doesn't mean it is good...it is prolly tuned high and not enough port area.

Is it is Q Logic box from Best Buy that has that port plug to convert it to a sealed box?? if so and it sucks balls

yeah its the best buy type 2. funny thing. a friend has 2 competition MTX subs and a regular BS box and i hit harder than him with my box and 2 insignia subs (best buy brand). that's what makes me think its not the box. besides, i'm not gonna pay somebody to build a box around here, 'cause they don't know sh!+ about 'em. er'body still thinks their subs are the only things that matter. you gotta go somewhere where people know what they're doing, and unfortunately, thats gonna cost some real cake here. but as far as i know, the box has to be "sized" for the trunk its in, basically all boxes dont work the same in all vehicles. depends on how much space you're talkin. er'body around here just wants to sell ya som'n, regardless if its better for your application. i was gonna get a three sub box, but the boxes are sh!++y. i'll stick with my box until som'n better comes along, or i luck up and find a V-tech box! lol. i don't know about your state, but here, as long as you're makin a little noise, you're good. besides, you can have a great sounding system but 2 things are gonna happen to ruin it..1) somebody will steal it (and when you have over $1000 worth of equipement, you gotta pay extra on insurance). 2) some kinda rapper or ball player or wealthy person is gonna crush you with his JL audio 8 12's 4000watt DVD in-dash with navigation, wireless headphone system. and the 28" rims on the truck will just be the icing......f@# that! i just wanna sound good, not get my a$$ embarrased. er'body around here has a quakin system, i'm not tryin compete, just sound good

this is my box....i think it works well.

keep in mind you do have a kicker SoloBaric!

that one does look way diffrent from mine, and yes i may have a kicker but with only 200 or so watts going to it from my PG amp,and it still hit harder than the 2 12's with each one getting 220watts from my power acoustik 980LT.

so if all you need is a little more bass give those MA's a try.hook them up in stereo to the american pro amp.

    tell us what happens though.

thatyoungin It has to do with the Box. The box is everything. But you said one thing that makes sense and is 100% correct. The vehicle is the other factor.

When a customer comes to me and wants a box, I ask to see the car. I ask about what he expects, performance. I never ask about the woofer because I don't care. The woofer doesnt matter. I know, I've only built around 500-600 boxes so I am no expert.

MA suds will work in the right box, but so will any speaker.

This box went into the Impala (just Barely) in the back ground. This customer has had Planet Audio speakers in it, JL in it, and Fosgates, all in an attempt to be louder. He was dissappointed to see no difference in performance.

Next time I see him I will convience him to put PowerBass in the box. I will finally convience him that money won't make it louder. The JL's he paid over $120 each for. My $100 dollar for the pair PowerBass will perform exactly the same as the JL. Box Box Box Box, I cannot stress it enough

You should have no problem with the MA's in the right Enclosure, your prefab is probably not the right enclosure.
