Again, I have a yukon which is set up with two MTX components in the front doors, same in the rear doors and there is also a factory sub and 2 3/4 speakers against the back of the vehicle.

Can I do this and receive decent sound from the setup? Front to fron two speakers/ rear to rear two speakers as well as rear wall 2 3/4 inch speakers.

Now, can I bridge my factory sub (which is being replaced soon and hook to up bridged to the rear channel although the speakers are also hooked up?

No I cant get another amp/ no room already and I dont want to change the factory look.

    Thanks ahead

What do you mean by bridging your factory sub?

I don't think that the on-board factory amp will allow for bridging.

I think we're all confused on what exactly your question is.

are you adding something new (besides the sub)?

and are you saying that you have two (three quarter inch) speaks in the back, or two and three quarter inch speaks?

    Thanks for the responses...

Basically what I was trying to do was overload my Kenwood amp...and I did. I spent the full day installing this in my 2000 Yukon and here is what I have

    Front Doors MTX TC-6001 Components
    Rear Doors MTX TC-6001 Components
Rear Wall Factory Speaker/Tweeter (Im not Sure) They are 2 and 3/4 Inch???
    I cannot find a replacement for these....Ideas???

Rear Side Panel Factory Sub Its 8" and I have a 8" JL sub on route to replace this)

I just got an Amp... Kenwood KAC 4001 4 Channel (60 Watts per channel )

Spent the day rewiring all speakers and installing the amp under my front center panel ...fit perfect.

The factory amp is not being used...Cable from my JVC LHX550 (sweet deck) to the kenwood amp...wiring from amp to speakers.

I was trying to find a way to get it all working off the amp. No Go.
First, hooked the rear wall speakers with the rear door MTX's... rear wall speakers are factory and cant take the base... bad distortion

Secondly, I am trying to find a way to hook this sub woofer up...the factory sub. I first tried to hook it up as a modified bridge in channel B (positive left/negative right)..no go..the amp kept shorting and resetting.

I then, in all exhaustion, thought I would try it by the book. The speakers were hooked up to Channel A and B was bridged just with the subwoofer (left Positive Right negative switched mono mode for low frequencies. It still kept shorting out.

Is my only option here to get a separate amp for the sub??? I also have a subout right from the deck... would this suffice right to the sub or is the subout intended for an amp???

Thanks ahead and I hope I havent confused u all too much.

Sub preout is for an amp...no way a deck could power a sub.

Also what enclosure is the factory sub if there is one? free air or sealed? What JL sub are you trying to put in? What impedance is the factory sub? JL sub?

Rear wall speakers need a high pass crossover...

yes what was kinda confusing....maybe cuz i have a headache but there are some answers

You will have to excuse me..

Im not sure of the diff between a free or enclosed sub. The factory sub is in a box but the front of the sub is paper and open and only covered by a plastic grill which is formed as part of the truck sidewall. I also dont know the impedence as I havent removed it from the box yet.

The sub I have coming, sorry again, is a Digital Audio DA 4008 8 inch which is 4 ohms I believe.

The rear wall speakers are my real pain. They measure 2 and 3/4 inch across and they are a specific fit for that truck (it is a particular plastic mount the slide into on the left and right corner plastic if the truck. Would these be factory tweeters alone? They do not appear or sound so but I cannot find replacements. If so, I have Polk Audio tweeter from a component set I just removed but, again, they are one inch tweeters which Im sure I will have to mount separate to the provided 3 inch slotted opening in the plastic panel.

Thanks all for the help...yes Im new...just learning at 42 years of age but..

Loved spending the day ripping my Yukon apart and rewiring all speakers and... The front and rear door MTX 6001 components running off the amp alone are absolutely remarkable compared to the orig stereo running through the factory amp to the speakers.

PS... Would I be best to get a good subwoofer and run these through the high pass filter than the sub as a mono through low pass filter??? Would this in the end produce the best sound? Im asking because Im impressed at the base of these components but want the best sound for my...project.

Not sure what your asking here...But best thing would to get a new amplifier for your subwoofer.

Also you dont have to replace ALL of the speakers as in the rear wall speakers...you don't even have to reconnect these speakers if you don't want to...a HIGH PASS FILTER would make the rear wall speaks sound a lot better.
